Reducing Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions to Meet Climate Targets—A Comprehensive Quantification and Reasonable Options
نویسندگان
چکیده
A model is presented which covers the global greenhouse gas emissions (GHG emissions) and energy consumption (fuels, electricity) in five sectors of end users, industry, transport, buildings, agriculture, fugitive emissions. The electricity sector also considered, but associated GHG are reallocated to users. Different reduction measures were calculated ranging from substitution coal for generation by renewables, electrification road transport restructuring industry finally a 50% both food waste meat consumption. To elucidate consequences warming, future emission scenarios incorporated. One major conclusion that world can only reach 2-degree climate target if produced transportation, completely electrified 2050. Compared today, production renewables will then rise factor 11, total demand 2.4.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions for climate stabilization: framing regional options.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has stated that stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentrations will require reduction of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by as much as 80% by 2050. Subnational efforts to cut emissions will inform policy development nationally and globally. We projected GHG mitigation strategies for Minnesota, which has adopted a strategic goal of 80% emiss...

Interim targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are essential to put Australia on track toward the deep emissions cuts required by 2050. This report fi nds that by 2020, emission reductions of greater than 30 per cent below 1990 levels are possible, but only with a wide range of concerted actions in the energy, industry and land-use sectors. If the contributions from energy effi ciency in th...

Many environmentalists and some developed nations appear to have concluded that there is one Many environmentalists and some developed nations appear to have concluded that there is one climate change problem, global warming, and that there is only one solution to it, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, usually through the Kyoto Protocol. This paper argues instead that there are actually four ma...
